(Capsicum chinense) The Trinidad Scorpion Butch T pepper, named for Butch Taylor, is a very hot hybrid derived from the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion. Its heat can surpass 2 million Scoville Heat Units, with a floral, smoky, and slightly fruity flavor. Once the hottest pepper in the world, it was surpassed by varieties like the Carolina Reaper. While not native, it is closely linked to Trinidad and Tobago.
